【Panama Circular】 PMA Call attention for ships passing PERSIAN GULF, STRAIT OF HORMUZ and GULF OF OMAN

On May 3, 2023, the Panamanian-flagged vessel was forcibly seized by the Iranian Islamic Army Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGCN) while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Panama Maritime Authority revised Marine Notice MMN-01/2021 and recommend following the protective measures for ships passing such areas. The protective measures include risk assessment, reviewing section2 of BMP5 and maintaining vigilant bridge watch, etc.
