IMSBC CODE will be amended from 1 Jan. 2025.

What will be amended?
1.DIRECT REDUCED IRON(D) was newly added
DIRECT REDUCED IRON(D)(By-product fines with moisture content of at least 2%)(Group A and B, MHB) (hereinafter referred to as DRI(D)) has been added to the schedule.
DIRECT REDUCED IRON A, B and C were previously listed in the schedule, but DRI(D) has been newly added as a DRI with the possibility of liquefaction.
DRI(D) is a type of reduced iron, and like DRI(C), it is refined as a byproduct of the process of manufacturing DRI(A) and DRI(B). DRI(D) poses a risk of fire, explosion, and heat generation when it reacts with air, fresh water, or seawater, and the ship's equipment requirements are required accordingly. Please refer to the attached documents for details.
2.Rewriting of Exemption certificate for Fixed gas Fire-Extinguishing Arrangement (FFEA)
ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE DUST, PELLETIZED was added to the cargoes that FFEA may be exempted to be carried, according to IMSBC Code 7th Amendment and MSC.1/Circ.1395/Rev.6 (Please refer to
attachment 3.).
3.Schedule change of FISH MEAL(FISH SCRAP), STABILIZED(Group B)
IMO Class, UN Number and vessel requirements for FISH MEAL(FISH SCRAP), STABILIZED(Group B) was changed.
4.Cargoes which newly added

5. Information which shipper shall provide Master
In Regulation 2, additional information to be presented when the cargo is in a container has been added to the cargo information that the shipper should present to the master. Additionally, in Regulation 4.2, bulk density (as required by SOLAS regulation XII/10) has been added to the cargo information that Shippers must provide to masters.

Class NK changed the ventilation requirement for DRI(D) then technical information TEC -1332 supersede TEC-1314.
