【FuelEU Maritime】 3rd Webinar by EMSA

EMSA conducted 3rd Webinar of FuelEU Maritime on 28th Nov. 2024.

In this webinar, it was explained about implementing regulations for near future, upgrade plan of THETIS-MRV, presenting demo for making/submitting Emission Report. Below are important notes from the webinar.

• Guidance document for FuelEU will be published in 2Q of 2025. This guidance document will explain example of GHG intensity/compliance balance calculation method in some cases.
• Implementing regulation on neighboring transshipment ports will be published on 1Q of 2025.
• Additional Q&A will be published on EC webpage.
• The Pooling requirements were explained. One important point is that the overall Pool must have a positive compliance balance, which includes borrowing and banking from previous reporting periods.
• The next upgrade of Thetis-MRV will take place in 2025 and will allow users to create/report Emission Reports for FuelEU Maritime.
