EMSA conducted 3rd Webinar of FuelEU Maritime on 28th Nov. 2024.
In this webinar, it was explained about implementing regulations for near future, upgrade plan of THETIS-MRV, presenting demo for making/submitting Emission Report. Below are important notes from the webinar.
- Guidance document for FuelEU will be published in 2Q of 2025. This guidance document will explain example of GHG intensity/compliance balance calculation method in some cases.
- Implementing regulation on neighboring transshipment ports will be published on 1Q of 2025.
- Additional Q&A will be published on EC webpage.
- The Pooling requirements were explained. One important point is that the overall Pool must have a positive compliance balance, which includes borrowing and banking from previous reporting periods.
- The next upgrade of Thetis-MRV will take place in 2025 and will allow users to create/report Emission Reports for FuelEU Maritime.
