【RightShip】 Updates Age Trigger for Vessel Inspections//Update on 12 Dec. 2024//
We have already provided several notifications through the Maritime Engineering Support Center, we would like to reiterate the information as the phased implementation period is approaching.
RightShip has revised the age criteria for vessels subject to inspection, lowering the threshold from 14 years to 10 years through a four-stage approach.
Under the revised schedule, the implementation period has been extended and divided into four phases.
RightShip has introduced a three-month transitional period to help distribute the inspection workload and to ensure that vessels’ Safety Scores are not adversely affected. The RightShip assessment rules will be updated on the start date of each phase, indicating when a valid RightShip inspection is required for a vessel to pass the RightShip vetting process. The end date of each phase indicates when a valid RightShip inspection is required for a vessel to maintain a Safety Score of 3 out of 5 or higher.
It is recommended that vessels undergo inspection before the start of their respective implementation phase.
Please refer to the table below for the specific transitional periods.
Please note that vessels that have not undergone a valid RightShip inspection by the specified deadline will automatically have their Safety Score downgraded to 2 out of 5, in accordance with rule SS2-5.
