【New Regulation】 Australian Biofouling Management Requirements

As we have informed by our e-mail newsletter, new Australian biofouling requirements are coming into force from 15 June 2022(Link)。

This requirements states the items which shall be included in ship's Biofouling Management Plan, and what is expected when vessel operator cannot demonstrate proactive biofouling management practices. 

※Please note that this Australian biofouling requirements do not require all vessels to conduct hull inspection/cleaning. Specially the period of 'education phase', which is set from 15 June 2022 to 15 Dec. 2023,  the department announce that they will focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of biofouling management plans.
