We brief introduce the insight below, hope this will help when your ship have RightShip Inspection.
For the period of 1 Sept. 2022 to 31 Dec. 2023…
- 3,386 RightShip Inspection was conducted.
- Ot of the total inspections, 1,986 were carried out at the discharging port which is the RightShip recommendation, while 654 inspections took place at the loading port.
- it has been determined that a total of 90 vessel inspections, accounting for 2.7% of the total inspections conducted, were classified as “Unacceptable”. The inspections were considered unacceptable on account of the substandard level of shipboard operations and the seriousness of the documented findings, which unequivocally contravened the ISM Code and could have resulted in vessel detention had the vessel undergone inspection by a reputable port State inspection regime.
- These inspections had an average duration of 14.7 hours. The Inspections exhibiting a shorter timeframe typically displayed a high degree of familiarisation with requirements, were more organised. 308 inspections, accounting for 9% of the total, had a duration of less than 13 hours.
- The sections related to certification and personal management, navigation, ISM system, hatch cover and lifting appliances, mooring operations, and general appearances of hull and structure demonstrate the highest finding ratio.
- The analysis indicated that 34% of the documented findings during this time frame initiated
from regulatory sources, with the remaining 66% being derived from industry standards.
In this insight, there is a table for the three most prominent questions in each of the RISQ (RightShip Inspection Ship Questionnaire) sections, which may be useful for the ship's preparation before RightShip Inspection.
In addition, the RightShip Inspection Ship Questionnaire (RISQ) is often used as a reference resource for ship management companies to improve their Safety Management System (SMS) and create ship inspection checklists, as it provides comprehensive resources and guidelines that cover not only the regulations that ships must comply with, but also industry standards and recommended practices in detail.
